  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp maraschino cherry juice or milk for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan.
  2. Drain maraschino cherries, reserve the juice, and pat cherries dry before chopping.
  3. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in milk and reserved cherry juice.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  7. Gently fold chopped cherries into the batter.
  8. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cake cool briefly in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Whisk powdered sugar with cherry juice and drizzle over cooled cake.
