- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
- 1/2 cup ice water
- 6 to 8 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups flour and 1 cup diced butter. Mix until crumbly. Stir in the ice water gradually until the mixture forms a ball.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and place it into a pie dish.
- In another bowl, mix sliced apples, 3/4 cup sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Pour into the crust.
- In a third bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and softened butter to create a crumb topping. Sprinkle this mixture over the apple filling.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the apples are soft and the topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before serving.
