Description

Easy Christmas Stuffed Shells are a festive and comforting holiday dish filled with a creamy, cheesy ricotta mixture, baked in marinara sauce until golden and bubbly.


Ingredients

  • 16 jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil lasagna noodles until al dente, drain, and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil, add marinara sauce, oregano, and basil, and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Spread a thin layer of sauce in a 9×13 dish, stuff each shell with the cheese mixture, and layer in the dish.
  5. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  6. Let the lasagna rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
