Description
Indulge in the perfect balance of sweet and spicy with these homemade Candy Cane Fireball Hard Candies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups white granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/4 cup Fireball cinnamon whisky
- 2–3 drops red food coloring
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer.
- Remove the pan from the heat and carefully stir in the peppermint extract and Fireball whisky. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble and steam.
- Quickly pour the hot candy mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it into a thin layer. Allow to cool completely, about 30 minutes.
- Once cooled, break the hardened candy into pieces and toss with the red food coloring until evenly coated.
- Store the Candy Cane Fireball Hard Candies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Make sure to use a candy thermometer for accuracy.
- Handle the hot mixture with care to avoid burns.
- Adjust the amount of red food coloring for desired intensity.
